From the centre door to the month-end report

Borhan is not only a course platform, and not only an attendance system. It is the single tool a centre needs from the moment a student walks through the door until the month's books are closed.

Attendance

  • Attendance is tied to the actual session on the timetable — not merely a time of arrival.
  • Double check-in is impossible at the database level, however many times the code is scanned.
  • A latecomer is recorded as "late" automatically, based on the session start time.
  • Optional financial lock: a student behind on payment is stopped at the door.
  • Closing a session marks everyone who did not attend as "absent" in one go.
  • Manual recording is available if a student does not have their phone.

Parent notifications

  • Sending happens in the background — it does not delay scanning the next student in the queue.
  • A full log of every message: when it was sent, and whether it was delivered or failed.
  • Overdue-balance alerts are sent automatically.
  • Parents get an account of their own to follow attendance, grades and payments.

Groups and timetables

  • Groups with a specified instructor, room and seat capacity.
  • A repeating weekly timetable, from which sessions are generated automatically.
  • Capacity is genuinely enforced — you cannot book a seat that does not exist.
  • Optional link to an online course, so an in-person group has its own digital content.

Billing and collection

Three billing models, because centres genuinely collect in different ways:

  • Monthly — a fixed fee each month.
  • Per session — the invoice is calculated from actual attendance.
  • By package — a set number of sessions for a single amount.

Cash collection uses receipts numbered sequentially per centre and tied to the member of staff who collected. A nightly sweep moves overdue invoices to "overdue" status and triggers the alerts.

Local payments

This is the point that matters in the Egyptian market. Borhan supports:

  • Fawry — payment by reference code at any Fawry outlet.
  • Paymob — Egyptian cards and e-wallets.
  • Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash and Etisalat Cash through Paymob.
  • InstaPay — a bank transfer confirmed by the front desk against the reference number.
  • Stripe and PayPal for international payments.
  • Direct cash collection with a numbered receipt.

Courses and content

  • Course → modules → lessons, in an order you control completely.
  • Video or text lessons.
  • Video links are signed in the viewer's name and expire within minutes.
  • Track each student's progress down to the individual lesson.
  • A draft course is not visible to students until you publish it.

Assessments

  • Quizzes, assignments and exams.
  • Multiple-choice and true/false questions graded automatically and instantly.
  • Essay questions graded by hand, with a comment for the student.
  • A set duration for the assessment and an availability window.
  • The result is visible to the student and to their parent.

Roles and permissions

Every member of staff sees only what concerns them: a secretary records attendance and money and does not touch the curriculum, an instructor manages their own groups and does not see the centre's accounts, and administration sees everything inside their centre — and nothing outside it.

On mobile

  • Student: their attendance code, their courses, and lesson playback.
  • Secretary: a QR attendance scanner for the door.
  • A secure session held in the device's encrypted storage.
